WIC week is designed to increase the visibility of women working in the construction industry, share our passion and encourage others to join the construction industry and NAWIC.
This year WIC Week was held March 3rd - March 9th. We have several events planned for this week starting out with helping out at Food for Lane County on Tuesday, March 12th. and a member social on March 7th at B2 Bar & Grill. Guests are invited to WIC Week Events.
This event encourages and promotes construction to students in grades 1st through 6th. The contest is held on the local, regional and then national level. Students are provided with identical kits of material and given 45 minutes to build something pertaining to construction using their imagination. They are judged on the construction of their project and their verbal explanation of their project.
The 2019 event was held on February 2nd at River Road Parks and Recreation (Emerald Park) in Eugene. There were over 50 kids participating in the event. The kids all had a great time. Thanks to all those who participated and helped out!
